On Saturday, July 30 160 international and domestic students traveled from East Lansing to Mackinac Island! Students, parents and families got to ride bikes around the island, ate fudge, rode in a horse drawn carriage and so much more. The #OISSOnTheIsland group visited iconic places such as Arch Rock and the Grand Hotel. They enjoyed taking photos in the clear blue water, with their friends in the Grand Hotel gardens and riding tandem bicycles on the path.
Students said some of their favorite things they got to do on the island were: riding bikes, riding the ferry to and from the island, seeing the Mackinac Bridge, going to the beach, getting to talk to other MSU students, and the horse carriage tour!
Some great quotes from the trip:
- “It was a wonderful trip to Mackinac Island with my best friends.”
- “The water is crystal clear.”
- “First time visiting Mackinac. I biked 8 miles around the island and ate too many fudge samples.”
- “I don’t think I’ve ever seen a more beautiful day for a bike ride.”
