Chinese New Year, also called the Spring Festival is coming soon on Feb 8th, 2016 and this is the year of the Monkey! Dumpling making, Chinese New Year Temple Fair and Gala and more fun events are coming. Join us to celebrate with traditional cultural food, activities and more! We are also currently in the College of Arts and Letters China-themed year!

The Chinese Students and Scholars Association at MSU is pleased to invite you to attend the second annual Chinese New Year Temple Fair. Temple Fair at MSU will feature a series of excellent performances, activities and exhibitions, representing different elements of traditional Chinese culture. There will be free authentic Chinese food! Want to learn about Chinese culture and make cool international friends? Don’t hesitate, because you will be amazed by the colorful Chinese cultural performances and fun activities!

**Chinese Spring Festival Gala**

Come celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Greater Lansing Chinese community! There will be a lion dance parade, performances on the main stage and carnival games and activities. It’s free! This event was organized by the Great Lansing Chinese Association.
**2016 Chinese New Year Firework Show**
Date: Monday, February 8th, 2016
Location: Food & Presentation at C102 Wilson Hall at 5:00 p.m. Show at Cherry Lane Field at 6:30 p.m.
Come ring in the new year with a firework show! Free event for all MSU students plus one guest, with MSU ID.
Date: Chef Amy, who won the cooking contest with her beef noodle, will serve her winning dish, along with other MSU Chefs on Feb 26th.
Location: Wilson Hall
On Jan 15th, 14 entries were submitted for the contest with pictures, detailed recipe and brief description of the dish. There were 12569 votes on Wechat.
On Jan 28th there was a live cooking contest. The top three chefs cooked lion head, beef noodle and Dongpo pig elbow at the MSU corporate test kitchen in McDonel Hall. Chef Amy with her beef noodle was pronounced the winner!
